Look Up

Image
Looks like my dog is looking up at something here. Not sure what he had in his sites. Sometimes in life, when things aren't going as well as we would like them, we too have to look up, and just rest and wait. To me the waiting seems almost impossible. That's where we learn "patience", that word that I absolutely hate! :) Never ask God for patience, for He will put you into situations that requiere it! I learned that lesson a long time ago. We all have to go through situations like that, however. It's called "growing in the Lord". This picture here of Zeke, seems serene. That's what we have to do. While going through trials, find a place where you can rest. Then just simply wait on the Lord, and look up. He will finish the work He started.

God Is At The Window

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved! In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing. After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let’s wash the dishes" But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper." Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all r

Rose Breasted Grosbeak

I saw one of these birds at my feeder the other day, but didn't know what it was. The next day I found an e-mail from my sister in law, with a picture of this same bird, and the name of it! Are we in sync or what? I love watching the birds, but haven't had much time to do so as of lately. I'm enjoying my new job, working with the handicapped. But it is going to be very difficult at times, because there is a lot to learn. Haven't had much time to post, however, because of the new job. I don't want to give this up, because I do enjoy it. So please bear with me, and check back to see if I have anything new. It may be days or weeks, before I can get back to post. But please don't give up on me! I will try to get back as often as I can. Love you all, and thank you for being patient with me:)

Special Delivery!

Yesterday was my husband's and my anniversary. I have been very sick, with strep throat. So I spent most of the day sleeping. My husband sent me my card, special delivery! Zeke brought me the card, but didn't want to let me have it! I had to chase him down, to get it:)

Homemade Chicken Pot Pie

2 cups cooked chicken 2 cups mixed vegetables, frozen 1 can Cream of Chicken Soup (Mushroom or celery can be used instead) 1/2 stick of butter 1/2 to 3/4 soup can of milk Bake chicken and tear into pieces. I usually just bake some chicken parts and take out the bones and take off the skin. Then I tear up the meat. Put 2 cups of mixed vegetables into 3qt. pan with 1/2 stick of butter. I use a baking pan about 8X11, and it works just fine. Heat frozen vegetables with the butter for 2 to 3 minutes in microwave on high. They do not need to be totally unfrozen when finished, just slightly unthawed. Remove pan from Microwave. In a separate bowl, mix together soup and milk. Then pour this into the vegetables in the pan. Mix well. Now spread out the chicken evenly over the soup and vegetables. Now to make the crust! 1-1/2 cups of Bisquick (I used all purpose Jiffy Mix) and 1-1/2 cups milk. Get a bowl and put the Bisquick in it. Then slowly add the milk. You may not use all of the 1-1/2 cups of
