Mr Humphries

John Inman died today at the age of 71. For those of you who don't know him, he was an actor for a BBC sitcom, that our family just loved. The show was called "Are You Being Served". The girls and I would sit up until 10:30, to watch the show every night. Most of the shows were reruns, but we didn't care!

John played the endearing "Mr. Humphries".....who worked in a Department Store, in England. My middle daughter e-mailed me the web page, about his death...and said, "A very sad day, I lost my first love." She was fortunate enough to meet John Inman a few years back, at a banquet held for him. It was fund raiser for PBS. She was so thrilled to get to meet and talk to him! She told him that she had watched him for years, since she was little. They talked for quite awhile, then he gave her a hug:)

We will miss you, Mr. Humphries.

Pictures from the Prairie

Here are some pictures of the wildlife here in the Midwest. As you can see, there's quite a menagerie here....and they all seem quite busy! And some people think the Midwest is boring! Not to these little critters!

New Baby In The Family!!!!!!!

My niece had a baby girl at around 9:00 AM this morning. She weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces. I doubt that I will ever forget her birthday, since it's 2 days after Miss Curlies! There is nothing more exciting in a family, than a new baby, or a new marriage!

Congratulations to my niece and her husband! Also to my brother and sister in law...this is their second grand daughter! Did I mention, that the new baby girl was named after my sister in law? What a wonderful thing! I can't wait to see the new edition to the family:)

The Butterfly

This picture is a reminder to me of a story, from a long time ago. The story was about a farmer, who saw a small butterfly trying to break his way free from the cocoon that imprisoned him. The farmer watched him struggle, to no avail. Finally the farmer gently took the cocoon in his hands, and pried a small piece of the cocoon away, so that the butterfly could emerge into the beautiful summer morning. To the farmer's horror, the small butterfly fluttered around on the ground, and died.

Later, God spoke to the farmer. He told the farmer that the reason the butterfly died, was because he needed to struggle, to set himself free from the cocoon. The struggle to break free, was what made him strong enough to fly.

To struggle is a good thing at times. It makes us stronger....and soon we will be free of the earthly bonds that bind us. So when you see a butterfly, may you be reminded that he has been through a battle that made him strong, and is now free. May we all fly free, as the butterfly:)

Lion in a Snowstorm

The picture at the top left of the blog, was from yesterday. The picture to the left here, is today's! We got more snow than this one shows even! I took this one this morning, and then it snowed off and on...pretty much all day.

March winds bring April showers, that bring May flowers? Today we got the wind and snow! Wonder what next month will bring? As I have said before, where is that global warming when you need it?

As most of you already know, I haven't been feeling up to par. Today was the first day I had no fever! Looking forward to going to my youngest grand daughters birthday party tomorrow! I have missed them, and I think they missed me too.
Today they came over for a little bit, and I played Cooties with them! Remember that game? I still love building Cooties! But sometimes they forgot to let me have my turn! You have to watch those little stinkers! Of course, they beat me each time:) Grandpa took them out in the snow, for a little bit. But it was too cold to stay long. The wind was whipping across the prairies, blowing snow everywhere! March is coming in like a Lion in a snowstorm!
Just a day before the snow!
